I am giving Kampai a 5 because finally there is a sushi joint worth eating at when I visit Lebanon. The location of this restaurant is semi-hidden which gives you a nice urban feel when you get there. The interior is bright and fresh which allows you to focus on the presentation of the platters that are served. The salads and the starters are phenomenal. The sushi is very good and the best I have had in Lebanon so far. The staff are very professional and welcoming and the restaurant manager himself checked up on our table to make sure all was well. I highly recommend this place for dinner with friends. The Asian fusion main course I tired was a bit bland, however the rice they served was top notch and so were the steamed dumplings. Kampai is all about the Japanese and Asian fusion starters and sushi.
You cant give more stars for lebanese sushi. The place is a bit snobish, i saw people who are having sushi just for the sake of having sushi not because they like it. Expensive and small portions.
Waiter wasnt helpful or friendly and didnt help with menu( my question was "what is ur speciliaty rolls" his answer was" we dont have any" ) thats a dumb rude answer! If u compare sushi to canada, usa and europe u wont like it, but compared to lebanese standards its ok. And ill recommend it. Crowded , comfortable seats, i loved the water .
All in all a good experience
Well I went to have dinner there.first-timer.we ordered the crispy salmon salad and the crab salad.both are really good.a must try.however the sushi was not that good.i have had way better.
The service was ok.
The place is super prestigious.
The prices are ok not too expensive.
I tried more than 30 sushi restaurants in my life (in Lebanon and abroad). This is the perfect one ever! Better than Nobu! It has unique sushi and makis. The manager continuously develops the menu: innovation is the key of success! Great place (a little bit noisy when you have table of women)
I give it a 5 star for everything , food atmosphere, service. What I don't understand is why they don't have music playing! The mood should be guided by something other than the conversation happening next to me!
